Sustainable Holiday Gift Guide for 2019

Hey Friends,

The Holidays are upon us and 2020 is right around the corner! As we embark upon this new decade together The Shapiro Real Estate Group wants to give you our sustainable and eco friendly gift guide for 2019.

1. Wood Planter for Succulent or Cactus from Etsy

This planter is handmade and composed of a vegetal and environmentally friendly material: a blend of recycled wood and bioplastic made from corn. Its composition makes our planters sustainable and biodegradable. You can find it here on Etsy

2. Bamboo Travel Cutlery Set

The portable utensil set is easy to clean, dishwasher proof, lightweight and easy to carry around. You can find it here on Amazon.

3. Collapsible Coffee Cup

This collapsible coffee cup is microwave/dishwasher safe and small enough to fit in your briefcase or purse. You also get a $.10 discount at Starbucks every time you bring a reusable cup. You can find it here

4. Reusable Silicone Straws

These reusable silicone straws make the perfect stocking stuffer inside their sleek travel case. If you’re like me and don’t like the feel of glass or metal straws these silicone ones do the trick! You can find them here

5. 24-7 Reusable Bag

Ditch the plastic grocery bags this year and opt for these machine washable, compact and trendy totes. They come in a variety of different colors and hold up to 35lbs! You can find them here

6. Lush Lotion Bar

Lush is an incredible company in the beauty industry for many reasons – but our favorite is their commitment to sustainable packaging practices. Check out their holiday lotion bars here. Opt for the reusable tin to store your lotion bar year round.

7. Zero Waste Cookbook

Do you have someone in your life that loves to cook? This cookbook is filled with tips and tricks on how to make your food stretch further and reduce waste. You can find it here on Amazon.

8. Nest Thermostat

Google Nest is a smart thermostat that learns what temperatures you like, turns itself down when you’re away and connects to your phone. The Nest Thermostat saved an average of 10% to 12% on heating bills and 15% on cooling bills with average savings of $131 to $145 a year. You can find one here on Amazon.

…..One More Thing!

We figured if you’re investing in an eco friendly gift you might be interested in sustainable gift-wrapping practices! (Pro-Tip: Save your boxes and reuse them for gifts) Happy Holidays from the Shapiro Real Estate Group!

Excellent ideas thanks. Too bad you missed the bamboo straws available from The Grove Collaborative. I carry them in a little Muslim pouch in my purse. No flavor, easy to wash and totally compostable!

Hi Maggie! All the photos work for me – perhaps it was the browser you were using.
